Evening Circulation Supervisor, Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, January 2013 – December 2013

  • Acted as supervisor in charge during evening and late-night hours of operation
  • Trained and supervised up to 20 student workers in maintaining circulation policies and procedures and standards of service
  • Answered inquiries concerning overdue books, recalls, reserve problems, and fines both in person and over the phone.
  • Responsible for the collection of fines and fees while on duty and the balancing of cash collected during scheduled hours.
  • Maintained and troubleshot devices in the library after business hours
  • Oversaw building security, including enforcement of policies for maintaining a scholarly environment in the library
  • Provided initial response to emergencies, policy violations, and maintenance concerns, while reporting issues to management and the Office of the Library Director
  • Worked closely with the Head of Circulation Services and other Circulation Services staff to ensure consistent services whenever Circulation was open.

International Customer Service, ProQuest, Ann Arbor MI, February 2012 – August 2012

  • Processed upwards of $500,000 of orders on a monthly basis for customers around the globe
  • Identified and repaired access issues and basic technical support concerns in regards to research database purchase and use
  • Served as point-of-contact for French-language orders and service requests

 

Library Page, Sage Branch, Bay County Library System, Bay City MI, January 2008 – June 2011 and October 2004 – June 2006

  • Ran reports and shipping for inbound and outbound interlibrary loan on both local consortia and statewide lending levels
  • Supervised and trained staff of 5 junior pages, including developing a new training program that cut training time for new hires in half
  • Used extensive knowledge of the collection to help librarians with readers’ advisory and collection development
